The first few weeks of honours has really been about getting our heads around research. One of our classes is specifically on the research methodologies and covers many different aspects of how to go about research in relation to our honours project.

In my efforts to re-invent journalism I have already begun the process of scouring the web and academic resources for articles and journals which might help inform my ideas. Here are 10 tips I found for newspapers moving to digital.
While I have only been living in Melbourne for less than two weeks, I have had time to find room to live, move in, start uni, eat healthy food, and catch an awful lot of public transport. This is my new life in pictures, all of which are in different styles and not necessarily related.
It just doesn’t make much sense to me….. research that is. As a journalist usually we are trying to be as anti-academia as possible, yet this year I find myself stuck between a rock and a hard place because there is no avoiding it.
It will be a hard topic to cover in just one year but during 2010 I will be attempting to re-invent journalism as if it were just being invented for the first time.
To say the past few weeks have not been hectic would be an understatement. They have been a few of the most rushed, confusing, and best weeks of my life. Let me tell you about them quickly.
